you may be a big feeler

By Lindsay Hindle | Courage , Emotion , Persistence

Hey beautiful human. Have you ever got the impression from others or actually been told that you’re weak, need to stop caring so much, or that you’re too emotional for your own good?

Maybe you “think too much” or catch yourself feeling really anxious all the time and because you’re often DRAINED, this all seems like “proof” that you’re just not cut out for doing badass things in life like building a business, sitting in the executives’ chair, or leading a conscious movement.

But what if there’s another explanation besides just settling for being “different”, “weird”, less capable of handling the world, or even mentally unwell?

What I’m about to explain below are three unique human designs that about 20% of the population have. When I discovered that I have a ratio of all three, it was LIFE CHANGING! Suddenly, the light bulb went off and I began to embrace a whole new kind of freedom and power. Now it’s your turn!

Big Feeler

A big feeler is someone who feels their own emotions deeply. Whatever they feel is big, whether it is joy, love, compassion or it’s sadness, anger or frustration. People like this tend to find great comfort in creative arts like writing, music, poetry, and theatre as an outlet for these intense feelings. Big feelers may or may not have the ability to pick up on other people’s energy, feelings in a room, or collective energy like highly sensitive’s and empaths do.

Highly Sensitive Person

A highly sensitive person feels their emotions deeply, but also picks up information from everything around them. Sights, smells, sounds, tastes, tactile stimulation all feels much more intense than the average person. Very often highly sensitive people can feel the emotional qualities or energy of other people (although don’t necessarily absorb it or experience it like empaths do). Highly sensitive people are deeply intuitive and perceptive of everything and everyone around them. They may get tired easily, need to retreat or have lots of alone time in order to feel balanced.

An empath is someone who feels their emotions deeply and also feels or experiences the feelings of others as if they were their own or were experiencing them themselves. Someone who is empathic can often times pick up on feelings or sensations telepathically or be affected by what’s called ‘collective energy’ (the collective emotions/energy/vibration of all humans on the planet).

Do any of these descriptions fit you?

Life can feel pretty challenging if you think you’re odd for being so sensitive, if stressful situations really get to you, or you know you have an intuitive or empathic gift that you keep shutting down.

In fact, many beautiful humans like yourself avoid doing what they want in their career, stepping into leadership, or pursuing their own business because they don’t believe they can handle it.

In fact, one look at all the books about empaths in the Amazon bookstore (which are all SURVIVAL books 🙄) and it’s not hard to see how less-than-ideal beliefs have been imprinted on you by society and then re-inforced by your own experience.

But here is the truth:

Deep feelers, highly sensitives and empaths can do more than just SURVIVE.

WE CAN BE THRIVING LEADERS, CREATORS AND SACRED ENTERPRISE BUILDERS AND ENJOY FREEDOM AND IMPACT if we know how to leverage our special human design and feel deeply cared for.

The trick is that we have to step outside of the well-worn lanes that have been carved by people who do NOT share our qualities and gifts. We have to be part of communities of care that honour and respect who we are at our core AND help us strive to activate our highest self.

That’s exactly what we’re up to and who you will find inside of #THEBRAVERYLAB community on Facebook . We’ve declared 2020 to be “Year Of The Deep Feeler” and we’re gathering the forces of gentle warriors around the world!

The truth about succeeding in biz (or life) as a sensitive person

By Lindsay Hindle | Emotion , Performance , Perspective Shift , Resilliency

2019 was supposed to be the year you manifested great things, like launching your freedom & impact biz, a new position at work, or the love of your life.

You thought you had it together. With all the affirmations, meditations, books, strategic plan, “proven” tactics from the “top experts” and some citrine stashed in your abundance jar, how could you not?

But after a few small wins (which got your hopes up), things spiralled into a hellu-va fail forward, knee-scraping kind of year.

Now it’s 2020 and since you’re a heart-led human without hearty wins, you’re searching for WHAT went wrong so you can fix it and do it right.

Well dear one, it’s not about WHAT you did or are DOING wrong. Nope. In fact, you probably did and are doing things just right.

Where there IS trouble brewing, however, is how WRONG YOU FEEL FEELING.

It’s hard to go right when you’re “wronging” your feelings

What do I mean by that? Let’s dive in with an example…what are you feeling right now about yourself and the state of your dreams?

Are you feeling frustrated, demoralized or afraid you’re not good enough? Now, what are you feeling about having those feelings?

Is there a little voice saying:

  • you have no right to feel so sorry for yourself?
  • you’re weak for feeling so sensitive or emotional?
  • you’re crushing your “manifesting” ability if you let yourself feel negative for even half a second?

THAT convo in your head is what I call emotional back talk. It’s been sabotaging you from the start.

Gratitude for big feelings – the missing step BEFORE positive affirmations will work

Emotional back talk is a result of growing up in a culture that doesn’t teach us how to honour our emotional selves or give us tools to leverage this part of our genius, especially in business!

And depending on whether you’re a big feeler, highly sensitive person or empath (which you can read about here), when you feel things, you feel them with the intensity of tornados, hurricanes and tsunamis.

This intensity is energy that can become your friend instead of your foe.

You just need to learn how to start working with ALL of your feelings as power. And the steps I’m giving you below will help you do exactly that!

Step 1 – Love the baby in the bathwater

You may want to invite abundance into your life by only focusing on the ‘positive’ or ‘high vibration’ feelings. That’s great, but it doesn’t mean you need to be punishing yourself when you DON’T feel that way.

They say what you focus on expands, but guess what? What you resist persists!!!

When you allow yourself to feel ALL your feelings, you’re giving yourself healthy respect (not crushing your manifesting ability). Because if you keep criticizing yourself for the way you feel all you’re doing is feeding THE INNER CRITIC (the exact opposite of what you want!)

To help yourself get used to feeling ALL your feelings, simply tell the emotional back talk:

“I allow this feeling to be here, I allow it to be what it is.”

Step 2 – Reframe & Redirect

Once you have allowed the feeling to be what it is, chances are it will calm down. You may be surprised at this. All it wanted was a bit of your love and attention.

This is where positive affirmations actually start to be effective. If you skip the acceptance piece then all you are doing is trying to put a fresh coat of paint over a cracking foundation.

When you can leverage your deep feeling capacity as a gift, treating it like a genius that enhances everything you do you will find the deeper confidence you crave and the follow-through and manifesting to match!

Speaking of follow-through…are you ready to go ALL IN and thrive in your conscious business or impact career?
