As heart-led leaders, we’re passionate about our work and deeply invested in the success of our businesses. But no matter how much effort we pour into them, there are often invisible blocks holding us back from the results we truly want.
Over the years, I’ve noticed three common patterns that emerge among highly intelligent, empathic, and driven professionals in coaching, consulting, and healing industries. These patterns not only limit growth but also drain energy and joy from your work.
Too Much Focus on WHAT, Not Enough on HOW
I see so many high achievers who are excited about WHAT they sell—whether it’s their offer, product, or service—but they’ve lost sight of HOW they’re doing it.
This often looks like:

- Sales happening at timid prices that don’t reflect the value of the work.

- Strategies that feel heavy, draining, or out of alignment.

- Business operations that cost more in self-care than they return in profit.
If the how isn’t working, it doesn’t matter how incredible the what is.
Excitement About the WHAT, but Not the WHO
I also see professionals who are deeply passionate about their work but feel misaligned with the clients they’re attracting.
This can feel like:

- Working with clients who don’t light you up or match your vision.

- Struggling to feel energized behind the sales efforts.

- Sales that feel intermittent or inconsistent because your energy isn’t fully behind them.
When you’re not excited about who you’re serving, it’s hard to sustain the passion that fuels a thriving business.
Excited About the WHAT and WHO, but Not Themselves
This one is the hardest to watch. Scaling business owners who have achieved so much, are excited about their offers and aligned with their clients, but they don’t feel fully connected or free to be themselves.
This often looks like:

- Holding back from expressing certain parts of their gifts, like innovative ideas or creative talents, for fear they won’t be accepted

- Feeling pressure to conform to what they think others expect, which creates inner resistance

- Struggling to feel ease and conviction in how they show up, even though they’re delivering great results

- Discovery calls that don’t convert—only 50% or less turning into sales, despite their expertise and effort
When this happens, it’s a sign they’re out of alignment with their authentic authority, and that disconnect can hold back their growth.
